Dr. Andrei started the Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery program, along with Dr. Brolin at St.Peter's University Hospital. He was Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital until January 2004.

Dr. Andrei is currently in private practice and affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Barnabas Medical Center. He has performed over twelve hundred Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass and LapBand procedures.

Dr. Andrei is a Fellow of American College of Surgeons & co-chair of the Insurance Committee of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery
